ROGER L. SCHMIEDEKNECHT age 80, met the goal of his faith on October 5, 2013, with his family at his side. He was born August 30, 1933, in Whitehall, to Arthur E. and Margaret (Behnke) Schmiedeknecht. Earning an Associates Degree, he also proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Schmiedeknecht was married to the former Ellen Thomas on August 22, 1959. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, as well as an avid golfer and fisherman. He worked as a sales associate for Haviland Products. Mr. Schmiedeknecht was a member of White Lake VFW Post #3256, Algot Johnson American Legion Post #69, the USS Atka Association and White Lake Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Elaine Graeme and Loraine Wilson, and two brothers, Arthur Schmiedeknecht and David Schmiedeknecht. FAMILY: His wife, Ellen; his children, sons, Thomas (Carla) Schmiedeknecht and their children, David, John and Mark, Dean (Stephanie) Schmiedeknecht and their children, Steven, Samantha, Seth, Sarah and Rudy, and Dan Schmiedeknecht, and daughters, Susan (Mike) Grabowski, and their children, Tracey and Jamie, and Lisa Reed and her children, Joshua (Caitlin) and their child, Maxwell, and Arthur and Timothy. SERVICE: Friday, October 11, 2013, at 11 AM, at Faith Lutheran Church, 707 E. Alice St., Whitehall, with the Rev. R. Blaine Jorg officiating. A MILITARY SALUTE will be conducted at the church by the Honor Squad of White Lake VFW Post #3256. Interment will be in Oakhurst Cemetery, Whitehall. EUGENE ALFRED TERESI age 81, of Scott Twp., on October 8, 2013. Beloved husband of Bernice Teresi; loving father of Mitchell (Christine) Teresi, James (Kathleen Goodman) Teresi, and Laura (Kurtis) Brougher; grandfather of Leah and Emily Teresi and Jonathan and Rachel Brougher. Mr. Teresi was a four-year veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy and a past commander of the American Legion.
